Baby Socks-Part Two

As you can see, the second pair are started. Will finish it tonight/tomorrow.Not very fair to those of you doing big people socks tho'. So I'm making another pair, seems to be a lot of babies happening around here so I do have homes for them. Was talking to a lady today & she said she only makes tube socks for her grandchildren, they can wear them longer that way, makes sense to me..so the next pair will be tube socks.

Socks ready

The Panda Wool & Silk socks are ready. As it was too dark indoors to take pictures, I went outside and hung them in the tree in order to make the picture.

They were finished while watching the Olympic Swimming, and we saw the Dutch Ladies win gold.

Contest wise I'd place my socks in the Happy Event (#16) and #3 (hope I do it right.)
Design is made up by me. Socks suitable for a 16 month old. Needles used: US 0 and US 1 1/2.

I have cast on a new pair in Bunny Hop.

Off & Running-Baby Socks

Hope I'm doing this right, never done a blog entry before, so, here goes....

I started my baby socks this afternoon, about 4:00 pm EST. Never realized that I could knit so fast! I'm past the heel & going up the leg. Like to do my socks toe-up,so I "borrowed" Laura's pattern & reversed it, & there you have it!

I just may have to make more than one pair.

Knitting during the Opening Ceremony

Beautiful to see, the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics, that started at 14.00 Central European Time. Now, four hours later, the flame is going to be lit, and I can show you the cuff of my first sock. Inspired by a bit of history of the Chinese - as they simbolized the Silk Route, I chose the colours for the baby socks: Panda Silk Nutmeg, and Panda Wool Limeade. The Silk Route however was the route from China to Rome, on which silk, herbs and spices were transported to the west. The colours in the sock symbolize in my opinion the silk, and the spices.
