Maizy cast on during opening ceremonies

Here's a pic of the progress I made while watching the opening ceremonies in the Eastern time zone. This is Maizy yarn in Ballad Blues and I am knitting a slightly modified version of the "Walking in the Maize" pattern. I'm using dpns instead of circulars and I did a long tail cast on with K2,P2 ribbing for the cuff instead of the tubular cast on and ribbing suggested in the pattern. I finished the 2 inch ankle section and plan to start the heel today. Oh, I also cast on 56 stitches instead of 68. This will be my first "Eye of Partridge" heel so I'm looking forward to how it turns out! From here on out, I plan to follow the pattern, including the suggested K1, P1 ribbing in the foot section.
